Treehuggers
This has been a very productive weekend. Yesterday we got up went to get some banking done and got a new bed set (very much needed) with some gift cards we got for Christmas from Mike's dad. Then we came home my NEW Rachael Ray pots and pans came in the mail. I got them free with my points from my credit card....very exciting! We were going to go to a wine tasting then out to watch the game but changed our minds. We brought a bottle of wine and decided to go to Treehuggers in Berea. This was our second time there and we found out the first time that they do not have alcohol but you can bring your own. So we get there and someone seats us. We brought our own wine opener as we weren't sure if they had any. So we open the bottle and sit there for a good 5 minutes as the lights are constantly flickering, before someone comes over and takes our drink order or lack of. The waiter comes back and says just so you know we do charge a $5 corking fee and we ran out of wine glasses so you can use these boot glasses. Hahaha well that was nice as you have to be careful to not get the bubble in the face when you set it down. We gave him our appetizer order and our meal order. I got a roasted squash with portabella risotto, Mike got this last time it was soooo good and only seasonal so I wanted to go back to have it before it was out of season. Mike got a portabella panini. So we were sitting there sipping wine from our boots and munching on our appetizer (mind you they say to be patient as fresh food takes longer). Then we start to see little gnats fly around. Well just one or so I thought until I finally got it 2 more showed up! Finally a while later the waiter brings out my meal that I am sure was over cooked and says that he was very sorry but the kitchen is not going to be able to make the panini. Mike goes you are very lucky I am easy going and orders the gumbo (that is pre made and just needs to be warmed up). I find it a little weird that it took them until they brought MY food out and then decide to tell us that one meal will not be able to be made. So in the end it was an experience to say the least.....we had a coupon and they took the gumbo off so that was nice but not sure if we will be going there again anytime in the near future.
